You work here, you pay rent here, and the bill in front of you is due here. But the bank wants two years of local history you do not have yet, and borrowing from someone back home means the whole family knows. A licensed moneylender is the legal middle path. EZ Pte Ltd lends to Employment Pass, S Pass and Work Permit holders under Ministry of Law rules, from a real office in Chinatown you can walk into today. Check our name on the ministry’s public registry first. Then decide.
A foreigner loan is a personal loan from a licensed moneylender for non-citizens living and working in Singapore on a valid pass. Same law, same 4% monthly interest cap, same contract rules as any loan we make. The differences are the documents you bring and the amount you can borrow, which the law sets by your income.
A work permit holder whose family back home has a medical emergency and the money must move this week. An S Pass holder whose landlord wants two months’ deposit before the current lease ends. An EP holder between the last day of one job and the first payday of the next. If your situation sounds like one of these, you are exactly who this loan exists for.
| Your annual income | Maximum you can borrow |
|---|---|
| Under $10,000 | $500 |
| $10,000 to under $20,000 | $3,000 |
| $20,000 and above | 6 times your monthly income |
The law sets your cap by income. This applies across all licensed lenders combined, not per lender. Interest is capped at 4% a month under Ministry of Law regulations. One admin fee of up to 10% of the loan is allowed, deducted upfront. By law, everything you ever pay in interest and fees combined can never exceed the amount you borrowed. We put every number in the contract and explain it in English or Chinese before you sign.
Bring these and we can usually tell you where you stand the same visit:
If you have Singpass, your verified details are pulled safely in minutes. No Singpass? WhatsApp or call us and we will help you apply another way.
We talk through what you need and what your pass and income allow. No pushing.
The law requires every loan to be signed in person at our registered office. We sit with you and explain every term in English or Chinese. You read everything before you sign.
The full amount, minus only the one admin fee the law allows. For straightforward applications with documents ready, approval and payout can happen in the same visit, in as little as 30 minutes.
Yes. Licensed moneylenders can lend to Work Permit holders with valid passes and proof of income. Your cap depends on your annual income, starting from $500 if you earn under $10,000 a year.
Yes. Singpass makes it faster, but if you do not have it, bring your passport, work pass, proof of address, payslips and bank statements to our office and we will process it manually.
No. We do not contact your employer to tell them you applied. We may verify your employment as part of assessment, and we will tell you first if any check involves your workplace. Harassment or exposure tactics are illegal, and we do not use them.
Borrowing legally from a licensed moneylender is not an offence and is not reported to MOM as wrongdoing. Defaulting can lead to legal action like any debt, so borrow only what you can repay.
Tell us before you sign. Loan tenure is structured around your pass validity, and we will say honestly if the timeline does not work rather than sign you into a problem.
For straightforward cases with documents ready, approval and payout can happen in the same visit, in as little as 30 minutes. Complicated cases take longer, and we will tell you which one you are within minutes of sitting down.
Handle it legally, with a lender the ministry lists in public, and the problem stays a problem you solved, not a story that follows you. Come in, ask your questions in English or Chinese, and decide in your own time.
